This recipe is better done with the leftover ham with bone in.
3 Cups of water
16 oz dried green peas (rinsed)
1/2 tsp of ground cumin
1 small onion finely chopped
2 Chopped carrots
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1.- Place rinsed peas in a 3 qt saucepan and bring to a boil. Drain.
2.- Add clean water, chopped onion, cumin, ham with bone in, garlic and carrots.
Serve hot. You can also add shredded cheddar, a dollop of sour cream or any other topping you desire.
